Mug rugs (or coasters, if you prefer) are one of the easiest things to make for gifts! There are so many different designs out there and you can make them in one sitting!
This one is 8.5 square and is using the super cute pattern Swoon by Camille Roskelley. I loved using her pattern and would highly recommend it for anyone that has sewn flying geese and is comfortable with sewing triangles and rectangles.
You'll have to forgive the wrinkly photos. I had a "helper" and needed to wash it before gifting it out.
I used straight line quilting and first did two lines diagonally from the two corners. Then I did a triangle pattern to fill in the spaces. Not fancy, but I love how it turned out.
The back is solid and the binding is scrappy.
I look forward to playing with some more mug rug designs! This fabulous circle mug rug is on my to-do list!
