The end of the year is so close and I've been flipping through this year's Project Life spreads quite a bit this week. I love looking back and seeing how much the kids have changed. I love even more being reminded of small moments that I'd already forgotten about. That's the real gift in doing Project Life. There are definitely times that I feel overwhelmed, uninspired, and in a creative funk, but looking at those older pages---you'd never know it.
This week I took the yellow from the date card and tried to use that color throughout the week. Yellow is rarely my go-to color, but I also hate to waste papers. That yellow was already there from the previous week's picture. To make it work, I pulled in some cards from my old Clementine kit and some yellow washi tape. I also used some yellow labels from the Martha Stewart line (I found them at Staples).
I also raided my older scrapbooking stash for letter stickers and used my trusty Sharpie paint pen.
Here's the whole spread:
A closer look at side one:
This week I ordered Mia's school pictures. Now, they send proofs home--rather than the whole packet--and so I cut it up and added it to our book. I might add a real copy in later, or use those for family and frames around the house.
I used washi tape to hold the picture to the cardboard from last week's transformer packaging.
I can't say no to a good car nap photo!
Hollis surprised us this week by starting to write his name. It's backwards, but it's so perfect!
I didn't get a chance to save the real one for the book---it got colored on and destroyed, but I had snapped a quick photo of it right after.
A closer look at side two:
We've been doing no TV in the evenings and it's been perfect for reading and art projects. The reading photo was a quick capture as they read together.
I found a great Apple Cinnamon Muffin recipe on Pinterest and made them early one morning. They were so yummy and a great way to start off a cool, fall morning.
I did a lot of writing directly on the photos this week. It's an easy way to fit the journaling in and helps with the blank spaces in the photos. I used a Project Life pen in the 03 size.
That polka dot card is from the Clementine kit.
Mark took this photo and I just love it.
Mia had a sleepover with some of her closest friends and their mom texted me a photo of the girls together. I messed up and printed in 3x5 instead of 4x6. Instead of re-printing I used the blank space for the journaling. I like when a mistake ends up working out!
I'm linking up with The Mom Creative and her weekly share.
