Can I just be honest and say that I'm thankful Thanksgiving week is over? We had a lovely week up to Thursday night and then a sickness hit our family that we are still fighting. There is nothing worse than a traveling stomach bug. On top of that one of our beloved cats got really sick and we had to let him go. It's been a rough couple of days and I'm hoping that this week will fair better.
I was pretty glad that I spent a few somewhat healthy moments putting together the spread for this week. It made it easier to just add a few finishing touches before taking photos. For anyone thinking of trying it out I'd suggest setting a few times a week to work on it. I print all my photos at home and tuck them into their spots every few days. Sometimes journaling comes right then, or I add that later. Remember, no matter what, keep it simple.
Here is the first half of the week:
The patterned paper is from Pink Paislee and I can't get enough of it. I added a strip of it's coordinating back side for the date card. I take the majority of my photos lately with my iPhone. It's the easiest way to catch spontaneous moments like a goofy moment with Hollis or Mia reading with her library duck.
On Sunday I took Mia to get her haircut (Does your JCPenney's do free kids cuts on Sundays??) and she wouldn't let me watch at all. She had a plan and when she came out she had the sassiest little bob! It made her look pre-teen and adorable.
Hollis helped me make the Thanksgiving dessert. He loved helping me turn the ice cream machine and that I let him sit on the counter!
Here's the second half of the spread:
While I did some shopping on Friday morning, Mia took pictures around the house. 88 photos later I found this gem of Naomi. It was the only one not blurry---but it's perfect!
When my sister and her family came up we took advantage of warm weather and walked to the park. Mark got out his skateboard and my sister got some great shots of him and my nephew Anthony, and all the littler kids trying to skate. I love that she'll send me photos to include in my PL book too. Maybe someday soon she'll try it for herself!
On Friday we had a post Thanksgiving brunch with Mark's side of the family including Aunt Susan. Her and Mia have a special "girly" bond. Hollis loved the indoor putting area that Uncle Bill has in the basement. I loved that we made it through without anyone getting sick and the twins slept the whole way home.
Crossing my fingers that we are on the mend.
