In the Kitchen

This weekend Mia requested biscuits for dinner. She's a big fan of the Simply brand of biscuits that you pop out of the tube and bake. We didn't have any of those on hand and so we looked up a recipe to make our own.

She's been asking to help more in the kitchen and so I put her to work rolling dough.

My favorite part of the recipe was that it had us fold the dough before we cut our circle shapes. This left two layers that were easy to pull apart after baking!

Here's what they looked like after baking. The kids like to slather them with butter and fresh farmer's market honey! We had them with fresh berries and clementine oranges on the side.

They tasted great, but weren't as flaky as the store bought ones. Still, in a pinch, they were a perfect no-fuss summer meal.
