Our Summer Manifesto

We have no big vacation plans for the summer. Instead, we are hoping to spend a lot of time together exploring some of the amazing things within our reach. On a long car ride the other day we made a list of all the things we want to do! Already, we've crossed a couple of things off, but I love having a physical list that we can refer back to. Now, it works best for us to plan some things for just Mia and a parent to do because getting the twins out for some things is just too hard. We've also added some things that just Mark and I want to do. Eventually, we'll add a kid-free weekend to our summer list, but it's not in the cards this year. My goal is to share some of the things we do here on the blog and do a end of the summer run down in September. Here's what our list looks like:

Day trip or weekend stay in Estes Park
Go to dinner at Ollin Farms
Mark & Mia ride the Cog Railway up Pikes Peak
G'Knight Ride
Go to the zoo (Cheyenne Mtn. & Denver)
Family hikes (we have two picked out!)
Go get Slurpees (although we plan to get more!)
Make basil lemonade and homemade ice cream
Go to a Rockies game
Go to Lakeside Amusement Park
Get ice cream at Sweet Action
Take Mia to the symphony
Rapids 4th of July game
Go to WaterWorld
Date Nights (Sushi Tora, Black Cat, Beatrice&Woodsley)
Explore Loveland and Ft. Collins
Take Mia fishing
Play miniature golf
Stay in Vail for a long weekend
Ikea (preferably kid-free)
Visit the Botanic Gardens
Go to Cave of the Winds
Go to Chautauqua Park
Visit the art & nature/science museums

I love how Lisa Leonard made her family's summer manifesto visible on a canvas. Ali Edwards has a summer manifesto link-up that you can check out too. She made an incredible scrapbook to document her simple summer manifesto too.

What are your plans for the summer? Any suggestions of family friendly outings, especially if you're in Colorado, are welcome!
