I spent this past weekend with my mom and sister and we spent as much time as we could at the thrift stores. It's not an easy feat with 5 kiddos, but we bribe them with their own budgets and pack lots of snacks. Their town has the best stores I've been to and it's a lot of fun to treasure hunt with them.
I want to share some of the things I came home with.
First, the best find by far was two Charlie Harper prints. My mom saw this sweet otter one first and I almost didn't get it. They were asking 15$ for it.
But then I looked closer and saw that it was signed and numbered.
I couldn't let this one go.
But, there was one more! It's signed too! When we got home I looked on the Charlie Harper website and my sweet otters are being sold for $400. These cardinals are originally $350.
I think paying $30 for them was WAY worth it. I'm going to get them reframed and hang them on our art wall.
This little screen print was only 99 cents. It's not in great shape, but I'm going to take it off the frame, hand wash it and then reframe it for our guest room.
I got a ton of kids clothes. I wasn't really needing any, but those thrift stores have gotten smart and locate their toys right by the kids clothes and so while the little ones got to shop, I stayed close and shuffled through the clothes. This little dress seems to be handmade and possible vintage. There are no tags but will be a perfect summer dress for Naomi.
Let me fully admit that my buying of the dishware has gotten out of control. The good thing is that I am using all my new Pyrex on a regular basis and love how they look and feel on the dinner table. I did pass up on A LOT and have gotten picky about the style and design that I'll buy.
Sweet little dishes!
Those tea cups aren't Pyrex, but are adorable.
You see that green one in the front. It's lovely!
I got a lot more and might share some more of the things I found later this week. When I got home, I was greeted by a huge bag of hand me downs left on the porch from a friend. When I texted her to thank her she wrote back, "Pay it forward." I love that so much.
I'm linking up today with Simple Design and her weekly thrift haul. Check it out and get in on the fun!
