I am pretty amazed that I got this all set up and ready to go December 1st. Last year I was still assembling the stockings! You can read the original post here. It looks perfect against the red wall and really has me itching to get all the other decorations in place. If only I could figure out how I'm going to keep two busy toddlers from undecorating everything.
Here is a close-up because I want to show off those clothespins. I had seen on pinterest someone do that and realized how easy it would be to spruce up some otherwise boring pins. I used scrapbook paper and covered them with Modge Podge. It's a small thing, but I love the way they turned out!
In a little more than half of the stockings, I've put in little prompts that will announce activities for the day. They range from going to get the Christmas tree, celebrating the babies (who turn 2 soon!!!!), going driving to look at Christmas lights, and visiting Santa. In the other stockings I've put little treats.
Not all of these things fit into those tiny stockings and I'll save them for Mia's bigger stocking instead. And I think next year I'll either need to make the stockings bigger or do a different advent calendar. I've been pretty tempted by the Playmobil ones. Most of the non-candy treats came from the dollar section at Target, but I also added a Pez and Squinkies that she's been eyeing.
I can't wait to share with you more from this holiday season!
