December Daily Pt. 1

One of the bloggers/scrapbookers that I really love, Ali Edwards, does a project each December called December Daily. It's basically a small scrapbook of all the activities that makes December so special. I've watched her do it for a couple of years, but have felt too busy with babies to make it work for me. Last year my mom did one and I loved how beautifully it documented the small moments throughout a busy holiday season. So, I decided to put together my own. Now, let me say right off the bat that my intention is to keep it as simple as possible. I set a goal of just telling 12 stories, but I'm also open to adding what feels right to the scrapbook. I want to just tell the stories and not worry about how it looks too much. I'll share it with you here as the month progresses. This is the title page and folks that saw it on instagram a while ago will notice it's changed slightly. I had a moment the other day where I was working on page two and sewed through this page in a very not cute way. Lucky I was able to save last year's Starbucks sleeve and remake the page. The notebook I'm using was a small 6x8 Franklin Covey binder that my mom found at work and passed on to me. I've been holding it for something like this for a few years. I covered the binder with Moda fabric and since all my other scrapbooks are covered similarly it fits right in!
Page One: Black Friday Shopping
I cheated a little and started the book with our tradition of going shopping the day after Thanksgiving. It's become more about preserving some girl time than spending money and it's something I really look forward to each year!
Page Two: Advent
Just one simple photo to document that I actually got the advent calendar up and running December 1st!!

Page Three: Her own tree
I felt pretty lucky to catch this blurry, but beautiful photo of Mia admiring her own little Christmas tree. This is the second year we have let her put one up in her room. She loves having something of her own that the babies can't get into!
Page Four: Christmas Dress
Mia proclaimed the other day that she needed a new Christmas dress. She has a concert at school coming up and a date with Santa for breakfast. So, we went shopping. The small photos are all the dresses she tried on and the hilarious "fashion" poses she did in the mirror. The bottom two photos are the two dresses she picked out. We had intended to only get one, but they were super cheap and now she's got two fancy dresses to wear for the rest of the year.

I really didn't buy anything new as far as scrapbook supplies. I'm trying to use as much of my stash as possible. I also am having a lot of fun playing with photo sizes and trying to make everything fit on such a small scale.
I'll share more pages with you next week!!
