Before I let it slip away I want to share some of the pictures from Halloween. It sort of snuck up on us after a couple of hard weeks. We had a flu bug hit all the kids, winter storm that knocked out our power for 36 hours, and just a general funk that we couldn't get out of. Good thing Mia had picked out her costume early this year!! This was the first year we didn't make a costume and I was a little bummed about that, but she really wanted to go to the store and pick one out. She was determined that she was going to be Dorothy and then she saw the witches broom and black and green dress. She made a great little witch and loved making her mean face! I can't wait to see what she wants to do next year!
We opted not to dress the babies up this year. They don't know or understand and bedtime is before trick or treating really starts. They'll get to join in on the fun next year and I'll have some time to sew their first costumes. Mark has started a tradition of taking Mia out and dressing up with her. Last year, the superheroes hit the neighborhood. This year---the Dark Duo. They went out walking with a group of friends and then came home, dropped off candy and went out again for round two. They drove over to their favorite spooky house and trick or treated around there. We had one tired witch on our hands when it was all said and done. And, we have more candy than we know what to do with.
I think it's time to negotiate a trade with the candy fairy!!
